1 Safety regulations
1 .1 Introduction
• This section describes the safety regulations that must always be taken into account when using the shearing system.
• Reading the operating instructions is mandatory for anyone working with the shearing system.
• The operating instructions must be kept in a safe place accessible at all times.
• Servicing and repair work must only be carried out by authorised service centres.
1 .2 Intended use
The intended use of the shearing system is described in Section 2.2 "Purpose". Any other purpose, in particular use on humans, dangerous
animals, specifically predatory animals, is expressly prohibited. The shearing system must only be used in dry spaces. The specifications in
Section 2.3 "Technical data" are binding application limits and characteristics. The safety test refers to the shearing drive, but not to the
mechanical shaft and shearing handle.
1 .3 Principles of safety
1 .3 .1 Power connections
• Only insert the plug into undamaged sockets. Consult the relevant regulations for your country.
• Only perform maintenance and cleaning work while the plug is disconnected.
• Use sockets which are equipped with a residual current protection circuit (FI).
1 .3 .2 Further accident prevention measures
• Avoid contact with a machine that has come into contact with water and other liquids.
• Avoid kinking or tangling the power cord. Never wrap the power cord around the machine during storage.Doing so can result in breaks
and insulation damage.
• Avoid animals standing, walking or getting caught on the power cord.
• Shearing should only be carried out if children do not have access to the shearing site.
• Never use a damaged machine. Have the machine immediately checked for faults and repaired by an authorised service centre.
• Never shear near explosive objects or gases.
• Never shear with blunt or broken blades.
• Avoid any contact with the moving shearing blades.
• Keep the machine in a clean, dry place which is not accessible to children or animals.
1 .3 .3 Noise emissions / personal protective equipment
• The noise emission while working is 72 - 75 dB (A), as the noise of the shearing handle is added to this when shearing. We recommend
that you always wear hearing protection, safety glasses and gloves when working.
• Personal protective equipment must be provided by the operator.
1 .3 .4 Residual dangers
Should dangers and risks arise in the company which do not arise directly from the shearing of the animals, we ask you to inform us
as quickly as possible. This also applies to technical defects that cause hazards.
• Never shear wet animals.
• Children are not allowed to operate the device.
• Route the power cable cleanly.
• Occasionally check the power cable for damage.
• Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces and objects.
• Switch off the machine before disconnecting the power plug.
• Unplug the power plug after each use of the machine. The machine must only be cleaned and the replacement blades replaced when the
power plug is disconnected.
1 .3 .5 Replacement of the mains cable
If the mains cable for this device is damaged, then to avoid risk the cable must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service team,
or a similarly qualified person.
1 .3 .6 Supervision of children
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
1 .4 Requirements for the operator
The safe use of the machine places only minimal demands on the operator. These must be observed and complied with, however.
• The operator has experience in handling the animals to be sheared.
• The operator has read and understood the operating instructions or has been instructed in the shearing system's operation by a specialist
and has been made aware of risks.
