SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING!
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions
should always be followed. Failure to follow these safety
instructions could result in bodily injury, damage to prop-
erty, or to machine.
WARNING
ˇ Fire and explosion can occur when this machine
is operated in areas where flammable solids,
liquids, dusts or gasses are present. Do not use
this machine in these areas. Use only with
nonflammable floor cleaners and floor finishing
products.
fl Do not leave the machine unattended when it is
plugged in. Turn off all switches and unplug the
electrical cord when not in use and before
servicing.
fl Do not allow to be used by untrained personnel.
Close attention is necessary when used near
children.
fl Avoid electrical shock, do not handle the plug or
machine with wet hands. To unplug the cord,
grasp the plug. Do not pull on the cord.
fl Do not use extension cords or outlets with
inadequate current carrying capacity. Do not use
with a damaged cord or plug. Connect the
machine only to a properly grounded outlet. Avoid
damaging cord (closing doors on cord, pulling
around sharp edges or corners, hot surfaces, or
running machine over cord).
ˇ This machine has an exposed, rotating brush.
Contact with this brush or with a thrown object
that the brush may contact, can cause severe
injury. Keep loose clothing, hands, feet and all
other parts of the body away from the rotating
brush. Avoid contact of the machine with loose
items in the area to be cleaned.
ˇ Do not insert any object into any openings in the
machine.
ˇ Do not attempt to bypass or defeat the lock-off
switch or dead-man trigger bar.
ˇ Do not operate machine on a floor that is dam-
aged or has loose tiles.

ˇ For commercial use only.
ˇ Check the rating plate to see if the voltage
agrees within 10% of the voltage available.
fl Use machine only as described in this manual.
Do not use in ways it was not intended. Use only
manufacturer's recommended attachments.
fl If the machine is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, or left outdoors, return
it to a service center before using.
ˇ Use the proper size pad for your machine. The
wrong pad can damage floor or machine.
ˇ Avoid damaging floor, keep machine moving
while in operation.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This machine must be grounded to protect the opera-
tor from electric shock. Do not modify the plug provided
with the machine. This machine is equipped with a cord
having a grounding conductor and grounding plug. The
plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is
grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordi-
nances. Improper connection of an equipment ground-
ing conductor can result in risk of electric shock.
UNPACKING AND SET UP
Carefully inspect all components to insure that there is
no concealed freight damage. If such damage is discov-
ered, file a Damage Report immediately with the deliv-
ering carrier.
This machine is packed fully-assembled and only re-
quires that a pad be installed before use.
PREPARATION
INSTALLING AND REMOVING A PAD

WARNING: BEFORE ANY SERVICING, AVOID
POSSIBLE INJURY OR ELECTRIC SHOCK BY DIS-
CONNECTING THE POWER CORD FROM THE ELEC-
TRICAL OUTLET.
To install a pad, lock handle in the upright position. Tip
machine backwards on rear wheels so the handle is rest-
ing on the floor, exposing the pad driver. Remove the
clamping plate (A) by turning it counter clockwise. Cen-
ter the pad on the driver, and press it on. Replace the
clamping plate and tighten by turning clockwise.
CAUTION: Prevent damage to floor or machine,
use pads rated for the speed of your machine.

To unlock, pull upwards on the handle locking lever
and tilt to the desired position.
