of day is set correctly.
Food Poisoning Hazard. Do not let food sit for
more than one hour before or after cooking. Doing so can result
in food poisoning or sickness. Foods that can easily spoil such as
milk, eggs, fish, meat or poultry, should be chilled in the refriger-
ator first. Even when chilled, they should not stand in the oven
for more than 1 hour before cooking begins, and should be
removed promptly when finished cooking.

tion.

The Delay Start feature may be used with the Conv Bake,
Conv Roast, Conv Convert, Bake, Slow Cook and Preheat
functions and Flex Clean. Delay Start or Cook Time will not
operate with the Broil function.
Convection
The convection function’s improved heat distribution allows for
fast, even cooking and browning results. It also gives better
baking results when using two oven racks at the same time. The
benefits of convection include:
•
Foods may cook up to 25% faster, saving time and energy;
•
Multiple rack baking; and
•
No special pans or bakeware needed.
The convection fan will begin rotating once Conv Bake, Conv
Roast, or Conv Convert has been activated. If the oven door is
opened when any convection function is active, the convection
fan will stop rotating until the oven door is closed. The Convec-
tion function uses a fan to circulate the oven heat uniformly and
continuously around the oven (
Figure 36
).
Because most food items will cook faster and more evenly with
the convection feature, it is advisable to reduce recipe’s recom-
mended temperature by 25° for best results. Follow the
remainder of the recipe’s instructions using the minimum recom-
mended cook time.
