Induction Cooking Zones
Cooktop displays
Each cooking zone has a corresponding display. Power levels
and messages are monitored and controlled using the window
displays in combination with the corresponding control keypads.
Power level settings
The cooktop control (
Figure 9
) displays power levels ranging
from Pb (power boost,
Figure 10
), Hi (
Figure 14
) to Lo (
Figure 11
).
The settings between 9.5 (
Figure 15
) and 3.0 (
Figure 12
)
decrease and increase in 0.5 increments.
The power level settings between 3.0 and 1.2 (
Figure 16
) are
simmer settings which decrease or increase in increments of 0.2,
providing more precision when setting lower heat levels.
Use
Table 1
in the Setting Surface Controls section to determine
the correct power level setting for the type of food being
prepared.
Pb (Power Boost) power level
When setting an induction cooking zone for Hi, the display will
initially show Pb (Power Boost) power level for up to 10 minutes
(See
Figure 10
). After 10 minutes the cooking zone will automati-
cally return to the Hi (
Figure 14
) setting. The Pb setting is only
available immediately after activating a cooking zone and
pressing Hi.
(HE) Hot surface display message
After using an induction cooking zone, the cooktop may become
very hot. After turning any cooking zone OFF, the cooktop may
remain hot for some time. The corresponding HE (hot element -
Figure 13
) message will remain ON until the cooktop has cooled.
(- -) Lockout display message
The (- -) message will appear whenever the Lockout, Self-clean
or Sabbath feature is active (See
Figure 17
). Refer to
“Setting
oven Lockout”
on
page 19
for more details.
Important:
The induction cooking zones will not operate when the oven is
set for Sabbath mode. For more details on the Sabbath feature
on
page 30
See “Setting the Sabbath feature (for use on the
Jewish Sabbath and Holidays)”
.
