6.3 Positioning of the extraction hood
The arm and the extraction hood are designed so that they can be easily moved and
adjusted with one hand. The extraction hood retains its position once it is set without
needing support. Furthermore, both the extraction hood and the extraction arm are
pivotable through 360°, so that nearly every position can be reached. For the
adequate capture of welding fumes, it is important that the extraction hood is always
positioned correctly. Please refer to the following image for the correct position.

Position the extraction arm so that the extraction hood is located 25 cm
diagonally above the weld.
•
The extraction hood must be positioned with consideration given to the
thermally induced movement of welding fumes and the suction range, so that it
safely captures the welding fumes.
•
Always move the extraction hood to each welding position.
6.4 Commissioning
•
Turn the unit on via the switch labelled "0" and "I".
•
The fan starts and the green illumination of the power switch indicates the
fault-free operation of the unit.
•
Only weld when the signal light is not on.
•
Regularly adjust the position of the extraction hood according to the progress
of the working process.
WARNING
If the extraction hood is positioned incorrectly or the extraction capacity is
too low, sufficient capture of air containing hazardous material is not
ensured by the extraction hood. Hazardous substances can thus enter
into the breathing zone of the user and result in damage to health!
