SNTP Configuration
SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol) is a simplified version of NTP which is an Internet protocol
used to synchronize the clocks of different computer systems. The time on different node stations
might be different. With the communicating programs running on those devices, it would cause
the non-desirable effect of time jumping forward and back. Therefore, the switch provides
comprehensive mechanisms to access national time and frequency dissemination services,
organize the time-synchronization subnet and the local clock in each participating subnet peer.
Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the convention of advancing clocks so that afternoons have more
daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of
spring and are adjusted backward in autumn.
•
SNTP Client:
Enable/disable the SNTP function to get the time from the SNTP server.
•
Daylight Saving Time:
This function is used to enable/disable
Daylight Saving Period
and
Daylight Saving Offset
fields.
•
UTC Timezone:
Set the location time zone for the switch. The following table lists
different location time zones for your reference.
