Handover of bed
Operators must brief all users regarding the correct use of the care
bed before it is handed over.
Therefore, as an operator, you must expound on these instruc-
tions, demonstrate and complete the maintenance record
regarding (for the maintenance record, see ‘Appendix’):

The basic functions for moving and locking the care bed.
–
All the controls and any connections that can be detached
without tools.

Operation
Staff qualifications
The care bed may only be operated by the operator or user.
Special safety information
DANGER!
Incorrect handling of the care bed can result in death or serious
injury.
When patients are left unattended, the care bed must be lowered
to its lowest position to reduce the risk of injury from falling.
No human or animal must ever be under the care bed.
The manual switch may only be operated by the operator or user.
The care bed may only be moved by the operator or user.
Children must never be left unattended in the vicinity of the care
bed.
Children must never climb on or crawl over/under the bed frame.
Moving parts. Danger of crushing.
When handling the care bed, be mindful of yourself, other
people, animals and objects.
Unsecured care bed. Risk of injury.
In daily use, always set the brakes on the castors.
Incorrect handling of the care bed. Material damage.
No objects must ever be under the care bed.
