Error Cause Action
Brakes do not
function properly.
The brake pads are worn out.
Replace brakepads. Refer to “5.7 To adjust the brake
pads” on page 26
The handbrake lever is not properly
adjusted. Check the handbrake lever and adjust. Refer to “5.5 To
adjust the brake lever” on page 26
Brake wire is broken.
Check the brake wires, replace any broken wire. Let an
approved service center do the check and replace the
wire if necessary.
Squeaking bike Moving parts are not properly lubricated.
Locate where the noise is coming from. Check; rear
wheel, brake pads, chain, chainring bolts, saddle post and
pivot points on the product. Lubricate and/or replace
worn parts.
Chain skips
Chain is too loose and/or worn out.
Check and adjust the chain or replace if necessary. Refer
to”5.4 To adjust the chain” on page 26
Wheels are not properly aligned. Check the wheels and realign. Refer to “5.3 To do a check
of tires and rims” on page 26
Hard to pedal
The brakes are rubbing.
Check the brakes, Refer to “5.6 To adjust the spring
tension” on page 26 and “5.7 To adjust the brake pads”
on page 26
The rims are damaged or deformed.
Check the front and the rear rims. Let an approved
service center do the check and do the service. Repair or
replace damage rims.
