Trouble shooting
• The motor runs hot during idling speed
- check the quantity of cooling air.
• The motor runs hot in the load state
- additionally check the handpiece.
• In case of r.p.m. - interruptions or irregular running:
replace carbon brushes.
• O-ring of motor coupling is missing
- replace O-rings.
Do not continue operation if any O-rings is
missing.
Elimination of faults
Changing the high pressure lamp
Press button 1 and at the same time withdraw the
sleeve 2 in the direction of the arrow. Turn ring 3
until lamp 4 is exposed. Slide the lamp 4 in the
direction of the arrow out of its socket and take it
out. Place a new lamp in the recess so that the
contact surfaces of the socket line up. Slide the lamp
into the socket. Secure the lamp by turning the ring 3.
Fit the motor sleeve and click it into position.
Changing the O-rings
Push O-rings to one side while holding them
between finger and thumb until a loop is produced.
Slide the O-rings forwards by means of the loop
and remove them. Fit replacement O-rings in the
grooves. Spray with KAVOspray.
Do not use vaseline, other grease or oil,
since this may result in malfunction.
Care Instructions
Cleaning exterior
The INTRA LUX motor can be cleaned on the outside
with an alcohol solution.
Do not place the INTRA LUX motor in an
ultrasonic cleaner since this may result in
malfunction.
Disinfection
The motor can be disinfected externally with chemical
disinfectants. For permissible composition, see
operating instructions for the units.
Carry out only wiping disinfection, not
spray disinfection.
Do not place the motor in solvents or
disinfectant baths.
Excess maintenance liquid (oil, cleaner or disin-
fectant) may penetrate into the motor and impair
operation. You should therefore make it a rule to
always follow the maintenance instructions
accompanying the instruments.
The O-rings on the motor must only be oiled by
means of a cotton swab wetted with KaVo mainte-
nance spray.
Once per week the motor sleeve has to be
taken off and the motor housing has to be
wiped with a dry cloth.
Sterilization
The INTRA LUX motor K 200 cannot be
sterilized.
Only the removable motor sleeve can be sterilized
in the autoclave up to 135 °C (275 °F).
