DRIVING INFORMATION

Decelerating & Stopping

Service Brake

Retarder (Optional)

Press the service brake pedal to decelerate.
Braking power may be changed due to road

conditions, weight of the vehicle and tyre
properties.

Therefore try to avoid from sudden brakes.

Instead, press the pedal slightly and

periodically to decelerate according to traffic

and road conditions.

Retarder function as an auxiliary brake is
integrated to a service brake pedal.

Retarder function operates in 3 stages
according to pedal position. The minimum

braking power is get at 1 stage. The maximum
braking power is get at stage 3.

WARNING

•

Retarder function is used as an

auxiliary brake. It must not be used to

stop the vehicle completely.

•

Retarder function can not be used

in low speeds. Therefore press the

service brake pedal completely to

decelerate and stop the vehicle.

•

More frequent usage of retarder

function may cause the brake linings
hardened. In such a case, braking
power may be lost partially. If you
observe such a case, contact the

nearest Karsan authorized service.

•

Using retarder function on slippery

roads may cause the wheels blocked.
