(1) Adjust the R GAIN and B Gain alternately so
as to minimize the white carrier leak of the
gray scale.
If a vectorscope is used to perform this step,
raise the vectorscope gain and adjust it to
bring the noise to the center.

When the color bar chart is of the reflective type:
Leave the dome cover attached during adjustment.
(1) Adjust ALC LEVEL to set the white level of
the color bar to 100%.
(2) Move the cursor to C GAIN and adjust it so that
the red level of the color bar is as specified.
(3) Set the ALC LEVEL back to the original value.

When the color bar chart is of the transmissive type:
Leave the dome cover attached during adjustment.
(1) Adjust ALC LEVEL to set the white level of
the color bar to 100%.
(2) Move the cursor to C GAIN and adjust it so
that the saturation of R (Red) in the
vectorscope is equal to that at the center of
the crosshairs. (Their phase angles do not
have to match.)
(3) Set the ALC LEVEL back to the original value.
