4.3 General Safety instructions for device operation
This section lists the General Safety Instructions for device operation. These
Safety Instructions must be followed to ensure safe operation.
• Vapors may escape during the temperature control application. Operate the
device in a well-ventilated location.
• Depending on the bath fluid, chemical dangers may occur. Observe
appropriate safety regulations
• If flammable substances are used in the bath and/or flammable bath fluid is
used, the device must be under constant observation during operation
• The safety functions of the device should be checked at least twice per year
4.4 General safety instructions for refrigerants
The device works with a refrigerant. To ensure safe handling, the operator must
comply with the following safety instructions.
• Details of the refrigerant to be used can be found on the type plate.
• The operator must ensure that the device is regularly checked for leakages
in the cooling system. The inspection intervals can be found in the
respectively applicable national laws and guidelines.
• Exchange and disposal of used refrigerant may only be carried out by
JULABO or an appropriately certified company.
• All laws and guidelines for handling refrigerants applicable in the country of
operation must be complied with.
• Depending on the refrigerant and the quantity of used, a certain room size
must be ensured.
The following safety instructions also apply to natural refrigerants:
• The device housing may only be opened by qualified persons who are
trained in the handling of natural refrigerants.
• The refrigerant circuit may only be interrupted by qualified persons who are
trained in handling natural refrigerants.
