OPERATION
Suspension
Check that the place where the chain block is to be hung up is sufficiently strong in relation to the
load on the chain block and its weight.
Check that the catch on the mounting hook locks around the mounting ring.
Before first use
Read these instructions carefully and familiarise yourself with the contents. Pay special attention to
the safety instructions.
Check the lubrication. See “Maintenance”.
Check that the brake is working.
Check that the chain runs correctly through the chain block. The chain must not be twisted, kinked
or damaged.
Before lifting
Check that the chain runs correctly through the chain block.
The chain must not be twisted, kinked or damaged.
Check that the catches are locked.
Check that the brake is working.
Replace any damaged labels.
All persons working with the chain block must be aware of the risks involved in lifting a load.
During a lift
Do not allow the load to starting swinging.
Use lifting straps dimensioned for the lifting capacity.
Do not go underneath a suspended load.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING
It is very important to properly maintain the chain block. Otherwise there is a risk of serious
personal injury or death.
The amount of maintenance depends on how often the chain block is used. The following charts give
intervals for three types of usage:
Normal
Heavy
Extreme
The user must decide on suitable maintenance intervals based on the above classification.
VISUAL INSPECTION (BY OPERATOR)
The following inspections must be carried out by the operator at the specified intervals:
Normal operation:
Every month
Heavy operation:
Every week
Extreme operation:
Every day
Check:
That the brake does not slip when loaded.
That the brake can easily be released.
That the hooks are not deformed.
That the hooks are not contaminated with chemicals.
That the catches are not deformed.
That the catches work and close properly.
That there are no cracks. Applies to all component parts.
That none of the parts are deformed.
That all screw/bolt connections are tightened.
That all warning labels are intact.
