The following screen shot shows a Priority Connection in the process of being made between
Channel 4 and Channel 7. When the building of this connection is complete (following another
click on the Priority button), the yellow stars in the top left corners will no longer be present.
Note: The “Deselect Cross-Net Button (after action) option in the Preferences>Control
Preferences page allows a user to be forced to click on a Cross-Net Links control button after
each full activity. This may be desirable to prevent inadvertent changes if the initial selection of
that button is forgotten and not turned off at the proper time.
Some properties of Priority Connections:
•
Making or breaking Priority Connections does not interfere with the structure of existing
nets.
•
While channels are part of a Priority Connection, they may communicate only with other
members of that Priority Connection. They are not in communication with the other
members of their existing nets (except for any net members that are part of the same
Priority Connection).
•
Priority Connections cannot be merged together.
•
Priority Connections may be made up of members of the same net.
The screen shot on the following page shows a pair of Priority Connections:
•
Priority Connection 1 consists of channel 4 (R4) and channel 7 (R7) – this is the
connection started in the previous screen shot.
•
Priority Connection 2 consists of the handset, channel 2, and Channel 9.
