How to Mount the
Transducer
To mount the transducer:
•
Refer to Figure 3.
•
Use the template as a guide and drill four
9/64”” holes in the transom, 3/4” deep.
•
Loosely attach the two metal brackets
with four #10 self tapping screws pro-
vided.
•
Attach the transducer to the brackets with
screws, washers, & nuts provided.
•
Adjust the brackets until the desired
height is achieved and snug up the
screws.
•
Determine the angle you want on the
transducer face and tighten the bolts.
•
Finally, remove the screws in the hull one
at a time and fill the holes with silicone
before retightening. Each time one of the
self tapping screws is removed, the holes
must be resealed.
WARNING: Failure to reseal the
holes when you remove the
screws from your hull can se-
riously damage your boat.
If You Have Problems
If the desired operational characteristics from
your downrigger, try these suggestions:
1. Loosen the 4 screws holding the trans-
ducer to the brackets and rotate the back
of the transducer slightly down to a maxi-
mum of 5 degrees. Retighten the bolts
and check again on the water.
2. If step one doesn’t produce results,
loosen the 4 screws in the transom and
lower the transducer to 1/4” below the
hull. Retighten the screws and try again.
If needed, the transducer can be lowered
until the top is flush with the bottom of the
hull.
3. If good operation still has not been
achieved, experiment by increasing and
decreasing the angle of the transducer
with respect to the bottom of the boat and
by changing the distance the transducer is
positioned below the bottom of the boat.
Changes as small as one degree or 1/16”
can produce the desired results.
Tools Needed:
1) Phillips Head Screw Driver
2) 9/32” Wrench
3) Drill with 9/64” bit
4) Silicone sealant
