Making & Using the Adjustments
The knee cups can be adjusted individually on the carrier. Loosen the wing nuts behind the cups (fig 17)
and slide the cups to the desired position on the carrier. This is how you can control the position of
abduction (fig 18) or adduction (fig 19) of your child’s hips as they stand. Please note: The sandals need to
be adjusted to line up properly with the position of your child’s legs. (see Sandals How? Page 18)
Why?
The position of the knees is important. The knee cup carrier should be positioned so your child’s knee is
cradled completely for comfort and security. The position of the knee cup carrier forwards or backwards is
important so that gravity can make a line through your child’s head, shoulders, hips and slightly behind
their knees. (fig 9. Page 14)

Always secure the child by using all of the positioning straps and safety straps provided. Velcro
should overlap by at least 3 inches
(7.5 cm)
on all straps before you begin to make any other
adjustments. Ensure the safety strap and positioning strap are adjusted for each child and for
changes of clothing.
