6.7. Hydraulic system
6.7.1. Run-in of the hydraulic system after changing the hydraulic oil
Open the valve for the chip size adjustment (biggest chip size) – Vent the system by
running the infeed unstressed 10 to 15 minutes in different valve positions (infeed
speeds).
Signs of air in the hydraulic system:
-
foam in the oil tank
-
jerk movement of the infeed
-
noises
The hydraulic system should only be stressed when the system is fully vented.
Check the oil level after venting the system. Repeat this procedure after each oil
change.
6.7.2. Maintenance of the hydraulic system
Retighten the couplings of the hydraulic system after the first five operating hours.
Check the couplings of the hydraulic system every 8 operation hours retighten if
necessary.
Replace the filter element after the first 20 operating hours, after that replace the filter
element every 500 operating hours.
Change of the hydraulic oil every 1000 operating hours / once yearly.
The hydraulic system must be checked by an expert annually.
The hydraulic hoses must be replaced by new ones after every 5 years.
Check the level of the hydraulic oil regularly. In case of decreasing oil level the cause
of the leak must be identified immediately.

Oil changes and repairs of the hydraulic system must be performed with high
cleanness and without effects of dust.
The hydraulic system is set and sealed to a max. pressure (see technical data). It is
not allowed to change this setting belatedly.
The max. allowed oil flow rate for tractor based oil supply can be looked up in the
following table:
