1. Safety instructions

1.4 Self-propelled Woodchipper (combustion engine)

1. While starting up the engine use the starter only for a short period of time.

Danger of overheating

! Wait for the starter to cool down!

2. Attention while handling with fuel – enhanced

fire danger

! Never fuel up near

open flames, sparks or hot machine parts. Do not smoke while fueling up!

3. Turn off the engine and pull off key before fueling up. Do not fuel up in closed

space. Do not spill fuel (use suitable funnel)! Remove spilled fuel immediately

to avoid environmental damage. Fuel should only be transported and stored in

suitable containers.

4. Lower the rotation of the engine to idling speed before turning it off.

5. Keep machine clean to avoid fire danger!

1.4.1 Starting aid

1. Do not use starting aid liquids!

2. When using battery booster cable ensure the right order. First positive pole

then negative pole! – Removing: reverse order!

1.5 PTO

1. Only use admitted PTOs!

2. Mounting and dismounting of the PTO only when engine and machine are

turned off!

3. Pay attention that the PTO is mounted and secured correctly!

4. Safeguard must be mounted in an approved way on the PTO and have to be

in correct condition!

5. Protect the safeguard against rotation by hooking up the chains!

6. Look out for the required depth of coverage of the PTO pipes in transport and

working position!

7. For PTOs with safety clutch ensure that the safety clutch is totally covered with

a safety cover on the machine and tractor side. The depth of coverage must

be at least 50 mm.

8. Before starting up the machine ensure that the right PTO speed is chosen.

Never exceed the max. PTO speed (see rating plate)!

9. Ensure that no one stays in the danger zone of the PTO before turning on the

PTO

10. Ensure that no one stays in the danger zone of the rotating PTO!

11. When the PTO is turned off the machine can run on because of the centrifugal

mass. Wait for the total standstill before opening the machine e.g. for

maintenance.

12. Put the PTO shaft in the deposit device when parking the machine.

13. Do not use damaged or broken PTO shafts.
