3 – MIXING
1.
After loading dry forages, such as hay, straw or wrapped bales, adjust the lower knives
in order to reduce the size of the fibres depending on the consistency you want to obtain.
2.
Then diminish the action of the lower knives and add the thinner products to finish the
mixing.
3.
The lower knives will be used in a more important way for cutting the feed (the lower
knives should be out). The lower knives should not be used for simply mixing the
different products without cutting them (the lower knives should be in).
4.
IMPORTANT:
When mixing, the user should always remain in the tractor’s operating station at
the controls of the mixer.
4 – UNLOADING
1.
While stopped, engage the two-speed gearbox in « fast speed » position, and activate the
mixing beater, with the tractor PTO, so that it rotates.
2.
Use the highest gear ratio to obtain better steadiness so far as possible.
3.
Turn the horizontal conveyor on, in the direction you wish to unload.
4.
Open the distribution trapdoor to obtain the desired flow (use the marks on the vertical
ruler).
5.
To unload only part of the content from the container, close the door when the desired
quantity is unloaded and wait for the side conveyor to empty itself. The horizontal
conveyor and the beater can then be stopped if necessary.
6.
NEVER STOP THE CONVEYOR IF IT IS STILL LOADED WITH PRODUCTS: wait
for it to empty itself or it could have difficulty starting again.
7.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Depending on the type of product used, the speed of
distribution should either be slow or fast, to obtain a more regular distribution.
Therefore, it is necessary to adapt the tractor’s engine speed as well as the
equipment’s speed ratio for each use.
8.
If after unloading, product remains on the beater, change over to a fast distribution, or
switch for a few seconds from 540 revs to 1000 revs through the tractor PTO.
