HST-3000 OLP-3057 Optical Power Meter User’s Guide

When 

Auto lambda Recognition

 is enabled and wave-

lengths are detected, the measured power levels are 
displayed simultaneously.

Selecting a

measurement

mode

There are three optical measurement modes: absolute, rela-
tive, and watt.

To select a measurement mode

a

Press the 

Action

 soft key.

Select a measurement mode.

Measurement 
mode

Description

ABS (dBm)

Absolute measurement mode, with results 
displayed in dBm.

REL (dB)

Relative measurement mode in which the 
received signal is compared to the reference 
value, with the difference displayed in dB.

NOTE:

 If no reference value has been stored, 

0.00 dBm will be used as reference value.
Relative measurement mode can also be acti-
vated by storing the absolute power level as 
reference value (see 

“Storing an absolute 

value as a reference” on page 16

).
