Throttle Cable
Removal
Remove the inner cable from the slot in the accelerator lever.
Disconnect the cable adjustment ferrule and outer cable from
the bracket.
Replacement
Replacement is a reversal of removal procedure. Check and
adjust the cable length as follows:
Have an assistant fully depress the throttle pedal, then check
that the throttle lever

is touching the maximum speed
adjustment screw stop

. If not, reposition the ferrule

With the throttle pedal fully released check that the throttle
lever

is touching the stop screw

Note: The maximum speed screw 10 and idle screw 6 are
factory set and should only be adjusted by a specialist.
Adjusting the Idle and Non-stalling
Settings (Engine warm)
Loosen the nut

and deceleration screw
8
so that the latter
protrudes 13 to 14 mm from the face of the regulator casing.
Unlock locknut

and start the engine.
With the fast idling control at MINIMUM, make sure that the
acceleration lever comes back to contact the stop screw

.
Turn the screw

to adjust the idling speed to 850 - 900 rpm.
Lock the locknut

Slacken the locknut

Tighten the deceleration screw
8
until the idling speed
increases by 50 rpm, then tighten one turn more.
While holding screw
8
lock the nut

.
Accelerate the engine fully then release the accelerator; the
engine should not stall.
Repeat the operation several times, making sure that the
idling speed has not been modified. If the engine stalls,
tighten the deceleration screw

of a turn.
