Intellivox HP series Installation Manual Rev 1.2
• Impedance sensing mode: When configured for
impedance-sensing use, the impedance between CO
and NC is 10 kohms and open-circuit between CO and
NO in normal operation. When a fault condition occurs,
the impedance between CO and NC rises to 20 kohms,
and CO is short-circuited to NO. To enable impedance
sensing mode jumper K7 should be placed on contact pins
p2 and p3.
The relay contacts have maximum current and voltage
ratings of 100 mA and 24 V respectively.
The diagram below shows the location of jumper K7:

Fault Monitoring when using the 70 V/100 V input.
If the Intellivox’s 100 V input is in use, a simple failure
monitoring scheme requiring no additional connections
can be easily implemented. This is based on impedance
switching.
The amplifier driving this input should be capable of
detecting changes in its load impedance.
The impedance between pins 1 and 2 of the 100 V input
connector can be two values:
• High impedance (> 1 Mohm @ DC).
• Low impedance (approximately 2.2 kohm @ DC).
These two states are switched by a separate
change-over contact of the Intellivox’s internal Failure
Relay. An internal jumper (K3) on the Input Board
determines the impedance states:
• Jumper present: low impedance if the device status is
OK, high impedance if the device has a failure or is not
powered. This is the factory default configuration.
• Jumper removed: always high impedance, regardless
of the device status.
