Restrictor Blades
The restrictor blades are located at
the front-left and rear-right corners of
the mixing chamber walls. Each
restrictor blade comes complete with
an adjustment pin that locks the
blade into position. When completely
inserted, the restrictor blades will
slow a large bale or mixed feed from
moving around the outside of the
mixing chamber, thus allowing the
knives to perform aggressive cutting.
The restrictor blades may be
retracted to the out position to lessen
the cutting action. The best position
of the restrictor blade is based on
user preference.
Important: Position the Restrictor Blades in the ‘IN’ (retracted) position during
transportation of the machine to reduce overall width.
2-speed Transmission (If equipped)
Machines equipped with the 2-speed Transmission offer operation of the mixer in either
‘High’ Gear or ‘Low’ Gear. ‘High’ Gear is a direct ratio speed (1:1). 1000 RPM input speed
will result in 1000 RPM output speed on the transmission. ‘Low’ Gear is a reduced speed
(1.8:1 or available 1.3:1). Operating in ‘Low’ Gear is beneficial when processing heavy loads
or for reducing startup power required under load. 1000 RPM input speed will result in 770
RPM or 556 RPM output speed on the transmission, depending on which transmission is
used.
Selecting between ‘High’ Gear and ‘Low’ Gear is controlled by a shifter located on the right
side of the transmission. It is important that the transmission is operated properly. When the
shifter is placed fully forward, ‘High’ Gear is engaged. When the shifter is placed fully
rearward, ‘Low’ Gear is engaged.
Important: Make sure that the shifter is fully engaged for positive gear engagement.
Important: The transmission can only be shifted when the driveline of the tractor and the
mixer are completely stopped. Some tractors equipped with a hydraulic lock on
the PTO may be required to be completely shut down to relieve the pressure on
the driveline.
