at 12 o’clock, a large double-digit counter dis-
plays the chronograph minutes. Its operation is
based on an instant-jump mechanism, which is
activated at the exact moment that the seconds
hand completes a full turn. The chronograph’s
total hours indicator is positioned at 9 o’clock.
THE SECOND TIME ZONE
The presence of a GMT function is a fundamental
attribute of an explorer’s watch. In keeping
with a well-established tradition on Jaeger-
LeCoultre calibres, the second time zone,
which indicates the user’s customary place of
residence, is indicated by an additional central
hour hand, which is complemented by a 24-hour
display at 6 o’clock.

STARTING THE WATCH
Position the crown in its neutral “N” position
on the dial. A few clockwise turns of the
crown will suffice to start the watch. It will
then automatically wind up when you wear it.
Please note that the crown does not lock when
winding, even when the watch is fully wound.
