Installation
Mounting the Pump
Using the rubber dampening feet, bolt or screw the pump to a solid surface above the water-line in a dry
area with adequate ventilation. Mount the pump horizontally, or if vertically, with the pumphead facing
down. The pump is not submersible.
Installing the Plumbing
Use of flexible hose of a size corresponding to that of the included port fittings is recommended. Attach the
hose firmly to these fittings using two stainless steel hoseclamps per fitting. Insert the fittings o-ring side
first into the pumphead and then push the retaining clips in to secure the fittings. A Jabsco 20 or 40 Mesh
strainer should be installed on the intake side of the pump. The pumphead will have an arrow on it indicating
flow direction. The vast majority of pumps are left to right as shown below.
Connecting to a Power Source
Proper wire gauge and fuse size based on the maximum current draw, the wire length, and any relevant
regulatory standards must be used. Current draw and fusing information is shown on the pump label. Correct
connection of the positive and negative leads to the power source is shown below.
WARNING SAFETY PRECAUTION:
Prior to activation, ensure that the hose clamps,
discharge hose and retaining clips on fittings are secure.
