GPS Interface

The Snapdragon 820 SMARC SOM supports GPS through WGR7640 chipset. The WGR7640 IC is a dedicated GNSS RF

receiver and fabricated using an advanced RF CMOS process that accommodates high-frequency, high-precision

analog circuits and low-power CMOS functions. Also, WGR7640 chip is dedicated for GNSS receiver input for GPS,

GLONASS and COMPASS operations. RF antenna need to be connected for better GPS locking function. MHF-4 Micro

R Coax connector is used for interfacing the GPS antenna (J7) as shown in below figure.
