Safety information
Installation notices
▪
Calibration seals of the ultego III flow sensor may not be
damaged or removed! Otherwise the warranty and cali-
bration validity of the device will be void!
▪
Remove the rubber band and/or cable ties provided for
transport of the flow sensor. In operation the control ca-
ble should not be located directly on the flow sensor.
▪
All cables and pipes must be laid at a distance of at least
500 mm from power or high-frequency cables.
▪
If several meters are installed in a unit, make sure that
the installation conditions are the same for all meters.
▪
Cavitation caused by overpressure must be avoided
within the whole measurement range, i.e. at least 1 bar
at q
p
and approx. 3 bar for overload q
s
(applies to ap-
prox. 80 °C).
▪
Before installing, examine the dimensions and check
whether sufficient clearance is available.
▪
If the ultego III flow sensor is installed in the joint return
flow of two heating circuits, e.g. heating and hot water,
the installation location must be sufficiently far, i.e. at
least 10 DN from the T-piece, so that the different tem-
peratures can mix properly.
▪
To prevent air traps, install the ultego III flow sensor at
the lowest point possible.
▪
Install valves/controllers in flow direction downstream of
the flow sensor.
Notices on installation for cold metering
▪
When installing the ultego III flow sensor for the use as
cold meter, make sure that the transducers on the mea-
suring tube pointto the side or downwards (formation of
condensation water).
* Probe (transducer assembly) cover
▪
The measuring tube always has to be installed in the
backflow. (Attention! Use flow calculator!)
▪
The measurement electronics must be disconnected
from the flow sensor and installed, for example, on the
wall. At the same time it is necessary to ensure that con-
densed water cannot run along the connected pipes &
cables and into the measurement electronics.
Notes on installing the measurement electron-
ics
▪
Avoid direct solar radiation.
▪
The device can be installed
vertically or horizontally rel-
ative to the flow sensor. To
do this, pull the measure-
ment electronics off the
flow sensor, turn it and push it on in the required posi-
tion.
Installation
1.
Flush pipeline according to DIN/EN. Observe the
country specific regulations!

stallation site.
4.
Dismount adapter, if neccessary.
5.
Clean sealing surfaces.
6.
Only insert a new profile sealing.
7.
Insert new seal.
8.
Note the direction of flow and compare with the arrow
on the meter.
