2020 Sonus PD Alert Operating Manual
Fix the GSM aerial on to the side of the Sonus PD Alert
Replace the rear cover of the unit. Turn the Sonus PD Alert on.
SIM Card Set-up
Register SIM card
Set the ‘Server Number’ on the Sonus PD Alert to a test mobile phone
• Go to Menu > Settings > Monitor setup > Server menu >
• Use the up and down arrows to set the number of the test mobile phone
Note: it is important use + symbol and country code at the beginning of the number even when used in that country
Turn the Sonus PD Alert off and then on again – this will allow the SIM card to register
Check the SMS status
• Go to Menu > Sim card > Status
The status should be SIM card registered. If the SIM Card Status is something other than registered, then refer to the Trouble
shooting section
SIM Card Test
Place the Sonus PD Alert in the exact position that it will be mounted in the substation. Close all substation doors or any other
barrier that may affect the GSM signal strength to the Sonus PD Alert while the Sonus PD Alert is in normal use.
