CAUTION!
Risk of tipping over
– Only ever drive downhill at a maximum of 2/3
of the top speed. Avoid sudden changes of
direction or abrupt braking when driving on
slopes.
– Always return the backrest of your seat or the
seat tilt (if adjustable seat tilt is available) to
an upright position before ascending slopes.
We recommend that you position the seat
backrest or the seat tilt slightly to the rear
before descending slopes.
– Always lower the lifter (if fitted) to its lowest
position before ascending or descending a
slope.
– Never attempt to ascend or descend a slope
on slippery surfaces or where there is a risk of
skidding (such as wet pavement, ice etc).
– Avoid trying to get out of the mobility device
on an incline or a gradient.
– Always drive straight in the direction the
road or path you are on goes, rather than
attempting to zigzag.
– Never attempt to turn around on an incline or
a slope.
CAUTION!
Braking distance is much longer on a downhill
slope than on even terrain
– Never drive down a slope that exceeds the
rated slope (refer to
6.8 Handling the drive lock-out feature
Drive lock-out is a feature designed to prevent the
wheelchair from being driven after the seating system has
been tilted beyond the safe total angle relative to the
vertical position. The total angle can be any combination of
seat angle, backrest angle and/or surface angle.
WARNING!
Risk of tipping
Drive lock-out only responds when you adjust
angles in standstill. The feature CANNOT identify
angle changes during driving, for example, when
accessing a slope.
– Stop your wheelchair before driving on a slope,
set the total angle to a value including the
angle of the slope you want to access. Start
driving. If the drive lock-out allows driving then
it is safe to drive on the slope with the original
seat and backrest angles set.
When you set the seat angle and the backrest angle
according to our recommendations before driving
on a slope, you can safely drive on slopes. Refer to
.
Depending on the type of your remote, one of the following
will occur when the drive lock-out feature has been
activated:
•
A minus symbol displays on the remote
•
A crossed out drive profile number displays on the
remote
•
Left to right chase on the battery display
