Engine Oil
Use only SAE 15w-40 motor oil. Always check and change
the oil at intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance
Chart beginning on page 36.
Pay attention to the oil level. A rise in oil level during cold
weather can indicate contaminants collection in the oil
sump or crankcase. Change oil immediately if the oil level
begins to rise. Monitor the oil level, and if it continue to rise,
stop use and determine the cause or see your dealer.
Oil Check
The dipstick is located on the engine and the fill tube is
located behind the driver’s seat, between the bed and cab.
1.
Position the vehicle on level surface. Shift the
transmission into “P” (Park) and turn the vehicle
off.
2.
Remove the seat.
3.
Locate and remove the dipstick. Wipe it dry with a
clean cloth.
4.
Reinstall the dipstick completely but do not lock it.
The dipstick must be inserted completely to keep
the angle and depth of the stick consistent.
5.
Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.
Maintain the oil level in a safe range. Do not
overfill.
6.
Reinstall the dip stick.
7.
Reinstall the seat
Engine Oil and Filter Change
Always change the oil and filter at the intervals outlined in
the Periodic Maintenance Chart (Pages 36-37).
Always change the oil filter when changing the oil.
