Chapter 14—Troubleshooting

14.4 Error During Printing

Description:

During printing, an error occurs:

• The printing stops

•  The Error LED turns solid red.

•  An error message appears in the display window (if any).

Possible Causes and Suggested Remedies:

•  The printer is out of media or transfer ribbon (Error 07 or 17).

-  Check and load a new supply if necessary.

•  The printhead was not properly locked in closed position and has

lifted partly or completely (Error 11).

-  Engage the printhead and make sure the printhead lever is locked.

-  If the printhead actually is closed and locked, but error 11 is still

reported, the headlift sensor may be out of order. Check connection
to CN14 on the main board. Check headlift microswitch (see Chap-
ter 7.6) and replace if necessary.

•  Check for jammed or entangled media or ribbon.

-  If found, clear and reload. Clean parts that may have been exposed to

the media’s adhesive using isopropyl alcohol or a cleaning card.

•  Check if the light path between the upper and lower parts of the label

gap sensor is obstructed by dust, adhesive, or stuck labels.

-  If so, clean using isopropyl alcohol or a cleaning card.

•  Check for bad settings or program command errors
