8.1 External Connections
FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS MIGHT RESULT
IN EXCESSIVE VOLTAGE IN THE INTERFACE MODULE CIRCUITS, CAUSING AN
ELECTRICAL FIRE, WITH POSSIBLE OPEN FLAME AND SMOKE.
Caution
!
Do not open any input signals. If input signals (CD, CI, CS, and DR) are not
used for communications, connect them to ground.
Use this product only under the conditions specified in this manual. Failure to
observe these precautions may lead to malfunctions, product failure, and/or
injury.
To achieve precise data acquisition, we recommend you to use shielded or
shorter cables as much as possible to eliminate interference caused by noise.
Moreover, move noise sources away.
Never connect signals for serial interface to any signals other than the
RS-232C (EIA-574) standard.
Do not apply voltage less than or equal to -25 Vdc or greater than or equal to
+25 Vdc to signals for serial interface.
Never connect signals for parallel interface to any signals other than the TTL
level.
Do not apply voltage less than or equal to -2 Vdc or greater than or equal to
+7 Vdc to signals for parallel interface.
