BIOS Setting Options

Memory Rank
Sparing
Disable/
Enable
Enable or disable memory Rank Sparing function. This
function is backup a Rank, if there occurs a Rank with
many ECC errors on a memory board, then the system
will enable the backup Rank, and the one with errors
will never be used.
Default is [

With the function being enabled, CPU will read and
verify all memory installed in the system in a certain
period (24 hours). It will correct the ECC error
initiatively. The advantage over the common ECC
function is that ECC can only find error when reading
the memory. This function can find and correct the
ECC error in the memory without reading the memory
content; default is [Disable].
Demand Scrub Disable/
Enable
Once this function is enabled, when CPU reads certain
memory and finds Ecc error, it will correct it.

[Enable].

Tagging

Enable
Once this function is enabled,
within a single rank in
DIMM if a particle fails, the particle used for error
correction function will replace it, and then the rank
loses Device tagging function, and error correction
capability declines.
