By turning the 

Alarm:

 for this function 

On

, and setting a 

Time On 

(Min):

 at a nominal figure of 20 minutes or so, personnel will be 

alerted to a ‘stuck’ RadioText field when a RadioText update is 

not received during the specified period. 

Pilot Loss 

This  alarm  indicates  the  loss  of  the  FM  stereo  pilot,  which  

could coincide with poor signal reception or a failure in the sta-

tion’s stereo generator. 

Alarm Logging 

In addition to  local  displays 

and messaging alerts to signal 

and programming errors, the 

alarm data are logged and stor-

ed  indefinitely.    You  can  click  

on 

View Alarm Log

 near the 

bottom  of  the  page  for  a  dis-

play of all alarms in chronolog-

ical order.

Complete

 (all logged alarms) time periods.  The number of 

alarms  received  for  these  time  periods  is  shown  at  the  top.    

Downloads are saved to your computer as small .csv text files. 
The Alarm Log will continue to accumulate entries, but you may 

clear  it  at  any  time  by  clicking  the  

Clear Alarm Logs

  bar.    This  

will  delete  all  entries.    You’ll  be  asked  to  confirm  this  action,  

and  you  might  decide  to  download  the  

Complete

 log of all 

alarms first to be on the safe side.

gests, as SOFIA 565 setup is accomplished by entries on a num-

hemisphere.  This may be manually changed to

ard for Europe and some other world regions.  A proper setting 

is recommended, as the wrong one will upset the tonal balance 

of FM reception.
