8.6 Electrical Field Connections
In order to avoid any air leakage, please make sure that all electrical connections being
made through the unit casing is properly sealed outside the conduit and inside (once the
wires have been pulled through). It is the responsibility of the installing contractor to con
nect the electrical conduits for the lighting at the module splits and also pull the wiring
through the conduit. The wiring and connectors are provided.
We strongly recommend having the electrical or control conduits run on the outside of the
unit, so as to avoid air of travelling on the conduits, through different sections of the unit.
Motor Junction box
Once the electrical wiring is completed, the inside of the flexible conduit is sealed using caulk
ing. This is to prevent any condensation from forming in the motor electrical conduit.
Light
fixtures
Once the wires have been pulled, the conduit connecting to each light fixtures is to be sealed
with caulking to prevent any condensation from forming in the light fixtures.
Modular Field Connection
Three lead motors may be either wye connected or delta connected. Interchange any two
leads to reverse rotation. Lead colors are optional. Leads must be numbered as shown
(Figure
17).
IMPORTANT NOTE:
THE FIELD CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SEALING THE CONDUITS (INSIDE
AND OUTSIDE) AFTER PULLING THE WIRES THROUGH.
HEPA FILTER FRAMES
No perforations are to be made through the HEPA Filter Frames and/or blanks for
electrical or control conduits. Connections will have to be made from the outside
of the unit or through a vestibule (if applicable).
