3)  The XLR jacks MIC OUT (12) of the two

receiver sections can be connected to two
microphone inputs of a mixer or amplifier .

To use the mixed signal of the two re-

ceiver sections, feed the mixed signal from
the jack SUM OUT (11) to a line input . For
setting the mixing ratio, see chapter 4 .3 .

4)  Connect the power supply unit provided

to the power supply jack DC INPUT (9) and
to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) .

5)  To switch on the receiver, keep the button

POWER (8) pressed until the displays (6)
light up .

To switch off the receiver, keep the

button pressed until OFF appears on the
displays . The power supply unit has a low
power consumption even when the re-
ceiver is switched off; therefore, discon-
nect the power supply unit from the mains
socket when the receiver is not operated
for a longer period of time .

6)  The other settings of the receiver section

are described in the following chapters .
Make the settings one after the other for
each receiver section (RECEIVER 1 and 2) .

4.2 Setting the transmission channel

Scan a free transmission channel automati-
cally or set it manually . Then simply press a
button to set the wireless microphone via IR
signal to the same channel .
1)  To

automatically scan

 a free receiving

channel, keep the button ACT (2) pressed
until the display indicates the scan mode
(

) . After a short period of time, the dis-

play will show the number of the channel
found . The corresponding frequencies can
be found in the table on pages 16 / 17 .

2)  To

manually set

 a specific transmis-

sion frequency, see the table on pages
16 / 17 for the corresponding channel
group and channel number .

a) Press the button SET (5) once: The dig-

its for GROUP will start flashing on the
display .

b) As long as the digits keep flashing (for

a few seconds after the button SET,

or

 was pressed), use the button

 or

 (4) to set the channel group .

   Note:

If the digits stop flashing before the

group has been set, press the button SET
again .

c) To set the channel number, press the

button SET repeatedly until the digits
for CHANNEL start flashing .

d) Use the button

 or

 to set the chan-

nel number . The channel setting will be
saved as soon as the digits stop flashing .

3)  If the antenna symbol   on the left or on

the right of the display lights up when the
wireless microphone is still switched off, in-
terference signals or signals from another

wireless system are being received . In this
case, set a different channel .

4)  Switch on the wireless microphone and

point the infrared sensor of the wireless
microphone towards the IR window (1) of
the receiver section (see instruction manual
of the wireless microphone, if required) .
The distance must not exceed 1 .5 m and
there must be no obstacles between the
sensor and the IR window .

Briefly press the button ACT (2) . The

display backlight of the wireless micro-
phone is activated; the wireless micro-
phone and the receiver section are set to
the same channel .

5)  After the receiver section and the wireless

microphone have been set to the same
transmission channel, the antenna symbol

appears on the left or on the right of the

display of the receiver section (left symbol
= left antenna receives the most power-
ful signal) . If no antenna symbol appears,
please check:

1 . Are the batteries of the wireless micro-

phone discharged?

2 . Are there any metal objects interfering

with reception in the transmission path?

3 . Is it possible to improve the reception

quality by turning the receiving anten-
nas?

4 . Is the distance between the receiver and

the wireless microphone too long?

5 . Is the interference suppression adjusted

with the control SQUELCH (13) too
high? (chapter 4 .4)

4.3 Setting the mixing ratio of

the microphone signals

The mixed signal of the two receiver sections
is available at the jack SUM OUT (11) . To set
the mixing ratio of the individual signals, the
volume of the two microphone signals can be
separately changed: First adjust the signal to
be reproduced at the highest volume; this will
also adjust the output level of the jack SUM
OUT to the input of the subsequent unit . Then
add the other microphone signal .
1)  Switch on the audio unit that follows the

receiver or advance the corresponding
mixer control .

2)  Press the button SET (5) three times: The

digits for VOL will start flashing .

3)  Speak/Sing into the microphone, and as

long as the digits keep flashing (for a few
seconds after the button SET,

 or

 was

pressed), use the button

 or

 (4) to

adjust the volume (range 00 – 63) .

 Note:

If the digits stop flashing before the setting

has been made, press the button SET three times
again .

4)  The setting will be saved as soon as the

digits stop flashing .

4.4 Adjusting the interference

suppression

Use the control SQUELCH (13) to set the
threshold value at which the interference sup-
pression is to be activated . The interference
suppression will mute the receiver section in
speech/music pauses when interfering signals
are received and the levels of these signals
are below the threshold value adjusted . A
high threshold value, however, will reduce
the transmission range of the microphone
system as the receiver section will also be
muted when the strength of the radio sig-
nal falls below the threshold value adjusted .
Therefore, adjust a high threshold value (turn
the control towards MIN) when the reception
is good and a low value (turn the control to-
wards MAX) when there is a long distance
between the wireless microphone and the
receiver .
