In addition to fine-tuning your system with equalizers,
as described in this chapter, use gain and delay trim
(Chapter 6) to calibrate the level and gain for each
loudspeaker).
When measuring your sound system, you can
reproduce sound over each output channel individually
in the Measurement sub-menu (Chapter 9).
IAP Calibration software greatly facilitates
measurement and calibration of your system
(Chapter 10).
8.1
Introduction
For each loudspeaker, including subwoofers, you can use up to ten paramet-
ric equalizers. If you are not familiar with parametric equalizers, go to Section
8.3 to find out more. Some typical applications of parametric equalizers are:
– Loudspeakers Near Walls
Low frequency gain boost due to loudspeakers near walls or corners can
be corrected using Low Shelving filters with negative gain in dB.
– Room Equalization
Typically, Bell filters with negative gain in dB and large Q factors are used
to attenuate dominant low frequency room modes.

Loudspeakers Behind Screen
The low-pass characteristic of a screen can be compensated using
a High Shelving filter with positive gain in dB.
