Menu: Speaker Setup
3 (Center)

This is a stereo setup with an additional center loudspeaker. A center loud-
speaker may be used to:
– Reproduce the center channel of multi-channel recordings and movies.
– Reproduce the phantom center of stereo recordings. This reduces inter-
ferences between left and right and stabilizes the sound stage outside of
the sweet spot.

This is a stereo setup with an additional center loudspeaker and subwoofer.
A center loudspeaker may be used to:
– Reproduce the center of channel multi-channel recordings and movies.
– Reproduce the phantom center of stereo recordings. This reduces inter-
ferences between left and right and stabilizes the sound stage outside of
the sweet spot.
A subwoofer may be used to:
– Extend the bass of the left, right, and/or center loudspeakers with bass
management (Chapter 7).
– Optimize bass reproduction when the left and right loudspeakers repro-
duce bass sub-optimally (due to the room and left/right loudspeaker positions).
– Reproduce the low frequency effects (LFE) channel of movie soundtracks.
