Relay test
The plug C2 (see the figure on page 18) is intended to test up to 2 external relay NC
contacts.
If no external relay is triggered or monitored, the jumpers between pins R1/R2 and
pins R3/R4 must remain in place.
If an external relay is to be monitored, pin R1 must be connected to pin R2 via a NC
contact of the relay to be monitored.
If a second relay is monitored, pins R3/R4 can be handled in the same way. If there
is only one tested NC contact, these pins must remain linked.
Before switching the output stages it is checked whether these contacts are closed.
If the contacts are open, a fault is assumed and the output stages are not enabled.
Before any switching of the output relays the external relay contacts are tested.
Solid-state output stages
For the evaluation unit solid-state outputs (clocked PNP and NPN output stages, NO
function) are available which require a voltage supply.
Plug C3 (see the figure on page 18) has the following connection pins:
Up, PNP, NPN,
.
The auxiliary voltage must be connected to the pins Up and
.
The voltage supply used for the evaluation unit can also serve as auxiliary voltage if
it is of type PELV to EN60950.
The auxiliary voltage must be of type PELV to EN60950.
Connection of the safety switches
6 safety switches/chains can be connected to the plugs A1 to A6 on the evaluation
unit (see the figure on page 18).
The connection pins of the evaluation units have to be connected to the connections
L-, A, TE and L+ of the safety switches.
If all possible safety switches have not been connected, the pins A and TE remain
linked on the unused connections.
Per location maximum 3 safety switches can be operated using the internal supply.
