7.4.3.2 Motherboard Installation
To install the new motherboard or reinstall the old motherboard, please follow the steps
below.
Step 1:
Install the previously removed wireless module.
Step 2:
Install (see below) the previously installed SO-DIMM (if it is a new one) or a new
SO-DIMM (if is a replacement SO-DIMM).
Step 3:
Install the motherboard into the embedded system. When installing the new
motherboard make sure the external peripheral device connectors are properly
aligned with the preformed holes in the embedded system rear panel.
Step 4:
Reinsert the four, previously removed motherboard retention screws and the
four previously removed front panel retention screws. (See
Figure 7-8
)
Step 5:
Reconnect the following cable connectors (See
Figure 7-6
):
ATX power connector
Front panel connector
IDE connector
Serial port connector
SATA connector
USB connector
Step 6:
Reinstall the two heat sink kits.
Step 7:
Replace the HDD/DVD bracket.
Step 8:
Replace the top cover. Once replaced reinsert the two previously removed
retention screws.
Step 9:
Reconnect the peripheral devices to the peripheral device connectors on the
front panel.
Step 10:
Power up the embedded system.
