Boiling water

Never remove the water container from the base (or replace it) while the
appliance is switched on.

Remove the water container from its base.
✦
Release and open the lid, and fi ll the container with water to the desired
level, observing the
Min.
and
Max.
markings.

Before closing the lid and placing the container back on its base, ensure
that the appliance has not yet been switched on.
✦
Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket and press the On/Off switch. The
indicator light comes on.
✦
The boiling process begins. After reaching the boiling point, the appliance
is automatically switched off by the integral steam cut-off device. The
indicator light goes out.
✦
If you want to interrupt the boiling process, set the On/Off switch to its
Off position.
✦
To pour hot water, remove the container from its base.
✦
To prevent hot steam from being emitted, ensure that the lid remains
closed while pouring out the water.
✦
Remove the plug from the wall outlet after use.
✦
Do not leave any residual water in the container.
Descaling
✦
Depending on the water quality in your area, lime deposits may build
up on the heating plate. It is advisable to remove any such deposits
at regular intervals.
Any warranty claim will be null and void if the
appliance malfunctions because of insuffi
cient descaling.
✦
A mixture of 0.5 litres of water and 40 ml of vinegar essence is suitable.
- Pour the descaler in.
- Switch the appliance
on and let the solution reach boiling point.
- Leave it to take eff ect for a short period.
- To clean the container after descaling, rinse thoroughly with clean
water.

During descaling, ensure suffi
cient ventilation and do not inhale any
vinegar vapours.
✦
Do not pour descalers down enamel-coated sinks.
Sieve
✦
If necessary, the sieve can be removed from the spout for cleaning. Re-
insert the sieve afterwards
