Weather channels

(U.S.A. and Australian version transceiver only)
The transceiver has 10 weather channels. These are used for
monitoring broadcasts from NOAA (National Oceanographic
and Atmospheric Administration.)
The transceiver can automatically detect a weather alert tone
on the selected weather channel or while scanning. (p. 17)
Push [CH/WX] once or twice to select a weather channel.

฀ •฀The฀transceiver฀has฀20฀volume฀levels฀and฀OFF.
฀ •฀฀The฀ transceiver฀ has฀ 11฀ squelch฀ levels:฀ OPEN฀ is฀ completely฀
open; 10 is tight squelch; 1 is loose squelch.
฀ •฀฀If฀no฀key฀operation฀is฀performed฀for฀about฀5฀seconds,฀the฀trans -
ceiver sets the selected volume level, and returns to the normal
mode.
Push [ENT] to set the level, and exit the volume adjust-

ment mode.
฀ •฀Push฀[CLEAR]฀to฀cancel.
