Connecting AP Power
ICX420GAP series indoor AP supports local power or power via a PoE device.
Users can choose the method according to the actual network environment.
Validation check before powering on the AP
After installing the AP, the user should check the device before powering on for the first
time:
If using local power for the AP, please ensure the power is connected and
grounded.
When AP is used with an IEEE 802.3af/at standard PoE power source,
please ensure the power is connected per manufacturer’s specifications.
Power-over-Ethernet and Ports
User can use the Ethernet cable to connect the Ethernet interface of the AP and the
switch which supports PoE function to power to the AP.
ICX420GAP series adopts the 802.3af/802.3at PoE power supply. When the USB is not
used, it adopts the 802.3af PoE power supply; if the USB is in use, it is
mandatory to use 802.3at PoE power source. The device provides two Ethernet
interfaces of LAN1 and LAN2. Only LAN1 provides PoE power function as shown below.
The marks of the two interfaces are LAN1 and LAN2 respectively. When the network
cable is plugged in, please plug the PoE cable in the LAN1.
The ICX420GAP provides a web network management function to configure the unit. The
administrator can use the web interface to manage and maintain the network devices.
