If the user wants to use
another kind of electrode, we
always recommend the ones bigger than those provided as accessory.
The maximum values of output current for the patient, which are provided by
this equipment, do not exceed the current density limit specified by the norm
NBR IEC 60601-2-10. Thus, with the recommended electrodes, the equipment
can be operated with the maximum output, if it is necessary.
Some chemical products, (gel, creams, etc.) may cause damages to the
electrodes, reducing its useful life. Always use good quality neutral gel.
After using the electrodes, clean them with running water. Always clean the
electrodes before you keep them.
APPLICATORS – BIOCOMPATIBILITY
(ISO 10993-1): IBRAMED declares that
the material used in the applicators (spatula transducer and electrodes) provided with
the equipment do not cause allergic reactions and do not cause potential irritation on
the skin. They should only be put in contact with the intact surface of the skin,
respecting a 24-hour time limit of duration of contact. There is not any risk of harmful
effects to the cells, nor allergic or sensibility reactions.
Durability of silicone rubber electrodes:
Wear of the silicone electrodes due to utilization time is normal. A worn electrode will
lose the homogeneity of electrical current conduction, giving the impression that the
device is weak. It can also have formation of electrical conduction points where the
current density will be very high, which may cause uncomfortable sensation to the
patient. It is necessary to substitute the silicone electrodes at least every 6 months,
even if they have not being used or even monthly if they have being used in an
intensive way. When cracks appear, the electrodes must be changed immediately.
EQUIPMENT AND ITS APPLICATORS CLEANSING
To clean the cabinet and its parts, just use dry and clean soft cloth. Don’t use volatile
substances (benzene, alcohol, thinner and solvents in general) to clean the cabinet, for
that they can cause damages to the finishing. After using the electrodes for electric
stimulation or ultrasonic spatula transducer, clean them with running water. If
necessary, for their disinfection, just use cotton dampened with chlorhexidine
digluconate 0,2% (aqueous solution); after that, dry them with paper towel.
