Instruction Manual C100-AE
4. Working with the column gauge
4.1 First start-up
Start by fitting the footplate and connecting the accessories ( air pressure, gauge head,
foot switches, etc. ). Follow the instructions given in chapter 2 of this manual.
The next step will be programming of the column gauge for your application. Follow the
instructions given in chapter 3 of this manual.
To do this go through all menus listed in these chapter or in the programming card.
Calibrating the pneumatic measurement converter.
The column gauge is now ready for work.
4.2 Measurement operation
Before starting measuring you should always perform an
Automatic gauge calibration
using the masters
supplied in order to compensate all offset and spread errors caused by fluctuations in temperature, wear
and so on.
Refer to chapter 4.4.
4.3 Restrictor adjustment
Only an optimal restrictor adjustment guaranties a minimal linearity error !
For the adaptation of a wide range of pneumatic gauge heads and for the minimization of the linearity error
the pneumatic measuring converter has a restrictor. The default setting of the restrictor is for gauge heads
with jet diameters of 0,8 mm - 1 mm. On gauge heads with smaller or bigger jets and very small or very big
gaps respectively the measuring converter could be optimised by the restrictor. By the use of 3 masters the
restrictor allows to adjust the linearity error at all 3 masters to zero.
For the adjustment of the restrictor please see the following description and schedule.
