backward
compatibility.
IBM
highly
recommends
that
the
Store
System
Information
instruction
(STSI)
be
used
rather
than
STIDP.
STSI
is
the
preferred
means
to
obtain
all
CPU
information
including
machine
serial
number.
When
a
unique
logical
CPU
address
is
all
that
is
required,
use
the
Store
CPU
Address
(STAP)
instruction.
