Required
hardware
components

build
a
storage
image
When
you
build
a
storage
image,
you
need
to
consider
your
I/O
resources,
the
processor
and
memory
allocations,
and
the
RIO-G
interconnect
separation.
The
Hardware
Management
Console
(HMC)
manages
the
resource
allocation
on
a
pSeries
between
LPARs.
However,
the
DS8300
comes
preconfigured
with
all
required
LPAR
resources
assigned
to
either
storage
image.

the
split
of
all
available
resources
between
the
two
storage
images.
Each
storage
image
has
50%
of
all
available
resources.
