server:
a.
Disconnect
the
fan
cable
from
the
system
board.
b.
Lift
the
fan
out
of
the
server,
noting
its
orientation
in
the
server.

Position
the
replacement
fan
correctly:
a.
The
airflow
arrow
on
the
side
of
the
fan
must
point
toward
the
rear
of
the
server.
b.
Fans
2,
4,
and
5
are
positioned
so
that
the
fan
cable
exits
from
the
fan
near
the
top
of
the
server.
c.
Fan
3
is
positioned
so
that
the
fan
cable
exits
from
the
fan
near
the
bottom
of
the
server
(a
180°
difference
from
Fans
2,
4,
and
5).
Note:
Correct
airflow
is
from
the
front
to
the
rear
of
the
server.
7.
Connect
the
replacement
fan
cable
to
the
system
board.
Note:
If
you
are
replacing
more
than
one
fan,
install
all
fans
in
the
server
before
connecting
the
cables
to
the
system
board.
