Only an optional diskette drive can be installed in bay 3. Other drives are not
supported in bay 3.
v You can install SATA hard disk drives in bays 4 and 5 only.

The integrated IDE controller supports the connection of up to two IDE devices.

The electromagnetic interference (EMI) integrity and cooling of the server are
protected by having all bays and PCI or PCI Express slots covered or occupied.
When you install a drive or PCI or PCI Express adapter, save the EMC shield
and filler panel from the bay or the PCI or PCI Express adapter slot cover in the
event that you later remove the drive or adapter.

Installing a CD or DVD drive
To install a CD or DVD drive in bay 1 or 2, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page v and “Installation guidelines”
on page 16.
2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords
and all external cables.
3. Remove the side cover (see “Removing the side cover” on page 19).
4. Remove the bezel (see “Removing the bezel” on page 20).
