14.4 Host access configuration
Detailed steps for creating the logical drives are in 8.3, “Configure Storage” on page 154.
We used the DS3000 Storage Manager to create a sample logical drive with a size of 10 GB.
We use the
Locate Arrays
task to identify our newly created logical drive, as shown in
Figure 14-7.

Our host server needs to be given access to this logical drive. The first thing to do is to
configure the host server in Storage Manager, so that we can map it to the logical drive later.
Automatic host access configuration
1. The easiest way is to use the
Automatic Host Access Configuration
task. For this to work,
the SMagent service must be installed and running on the host. An easy way to check this
is by looking at the Application Event Log, as shown in Figure 14-8.
